EuroSDR is an European user driven organization, which has a dual mission. First of all, it develops and improves methods, systems and standards for the acquisition, processing, production, maintenance and dissemination of core geo-spatial information and promote those applications. Secondly, EuroSDR encourages interaction between research organisations and the public and private sector to exchange ideas about relevant research problems and to transfer research results obtained to geo-information production organisations. Within this EuroSDR framework and methodology, professor Michael Cramer from the university of Stuttgart has started a research covering the calibration of all digital cameras. He has established a worldwide members network in which DiMAC is part.

The purpose of the 'Digital Camera Calibration' initiative is double. The first objective is the collection of publicly available material on digital airborne camera calibration in order to compile an extensive report describing the current practices and methods. This programme also aims to test empirically those practices to develop commonly accepted procedures for digital airborne calibrations and tests.

In this field, DiMAC offers all its knowledge and skills in terms of calibration know-how as well as its particular expertise as a new aerial digital camera manufacturer. We, indeed, believe that working in close partnership with universities and researchers is the best way to develop our technical awareness, which in due course will able DiMAC to update and enhance its technology.
